From the Puppet Theatre to Lessing

The final portion follows Faust onto the popular puppet stage and into Lessing’s unfinished drama, where the pursuit of knowledge began to promise enlightenment rather than inevitable damnation—preparing the way for Goethe’s monumental interpretation.
